Something Funny In PA

I just read a post over at The Liberal OC stating that the counting of the ballots is still continuing in PA. I guess not all counties have reported their results.

So let's look at what we have so far:

Votes	Delegates		Candidate
1,258,245	83		Hillary Clinton
1,042,297	73		Barack Obama

9218 of 9268 precincts reporting

I know that there are only 50 or so precincts that have not reported their results yet. Some of those counties may be rural, some may be more suburban, but the fact of the matter remains that HRC did not get a double-digit lead over Obama. The press is reporting that HRC got the 10 percentage points that she needed to stay alive, but the actual breakdown of the percentage with the remaining precincts still out of the count is only 9.2%, single digits.

When you break down the delegate count, Obama is still in the driver's seat with the lead.

The Obama Delegate Shuffle

I can safely write this post as a pledged delegate candidate for Obama in the 42nd CD. But for a while, that was not the case.

For almost 24 hours my campaign as a delegate candidate was snuffed out due to a bad decision by the Obama campaign. I called their national campaign office twice, e-mailed friends, and even spoke to their regional cordinator, all in an attempt to figure out what was the reasoning behind the cuts.

One reason that I got was that the cuts were made due to logistical reasons. Another reason was that Hillary was going to try to throw off the vote by planting hidden delegates. But one reason that stood out was the selection of people close to the campaign, leaving out those that donate their efforts to the party as a whole (as a member of the DPOC Central Committiee, my goal is to make the OC blue).

While the delegates who were removed from the list remained in limbo, the hand picked Obama delegates leaped past the other candidates, using the vacuum to campaign. I feel that those who have been removed will possibly suffer the "scarlett letter" effect when it comes time to vote.

I'm running, if not to win, but to say I was part of such an historic election. No one can take that away from me.
